October 2024 Newsletter
As we reach the end of the first half term of this academic year, I hope you will enjoy reading some of the many events that have taken place since we returned in September.
Firstly, I would like to thank all of the families and Year 6 students who attended our successful Open Evening and our hugely popular Open Morning Tours. We had over 180 families in over the seven mornings and received some amazing feedback.
In the course of the first half term our school has hosted a camp out for our new Year 7 students, an induction programme for our new Year 12 students, visits by local road safety and careers providers, as well as a plethora of school trips and visits including a catering visit to London and an adventure programme visit to Pembrokeshire. In the half term break we will see students visiting Washington for a deep dive into the history and politics of the USA. This week saw the launch of the camps international expedition to Cambodia which will take place in the summer of 2026. This will be an amazing, life changing opportunity for our student community.
Our new Year 7s have become valuable members of The Billericay School Family and are now fully integrated into the life of the school. I have seen them growing in confidence every day and demonstrating our school values of curiosity , aspiration and success.
I hope you all have a restful break and I look forward to seeing students again when we return on 4 November 2024 on Week B.
