The Basildon Parkrun
The sun came out for our run at Northlands Park️. A few muddy patches and puddles here and there still but a lot drier than it has been, making those 3 laps a little easier. A huge well done to all 199 people who participated, runners and walkers, and in particular to Theo Bahannack and Lucy Singer, first place male and female.
The usual runners were joined by around 35 members of The Billericay School community, with 5 teachers and many students and parents who were all supported by the Rochford Endurance and Distance run club. We all had a great time and will hopefully be back soon to run here again!
A few first time runners, including myself, and I think it’s safe to say we chose a great day for it - some lovely weather and great support from the marshalls and fellow runners. I have volunteered at Parkrun before but have never ran, so this was a huge challenge for me, but I will definitely run again.
And of course a huge thank you to all of the volunteers for giving up their time to make this possible each week!
