Bad Weather Procedures
It is always our intention to keep the school open whenever possible. However, there are occasions when the school has to be closed in order to ensure the safety of the students and staff. In the event of bad weather conditions, including snow, you should check this website where the information will be displayed on the Home page. Notifications will also be posted on our social media channels. Information will also be shared on our local radio station, Heart Essex
It is also important that you discuss with your child what to do in the event of the school closing early and have an appropriate plan in place for them to get home safely.
Remote Learning
In the first instance of school closure, students will be notified to access the Home Access to Learning materials via Google Classroom. Where possible, staff may also be able to upload additional work into the google classroom. Staff travel disruption or access to suitable devices means that this may not always be possible for all staff.
From the second day of closure onwards, work will be uploaded to subject google classrooms. This may include some element of live lesson delivery via google meet.
If the school is closed, public examinations will still take place for students that are able to travel. Examinations will start at their published times. Internal examinations will be re‐scheduled for when school is open again.
Travel
If you use NIBS buses to travel to and from school, it would be advisable to check their website using the link below to provide up to date information on services, particularly in the case of inclement weather.
